When using the builtin model browser, it will specify the full path for the model. Example:

/home/me/.local/share/games/fte/wastes/tw_models.pk3dir/models/props/storage/common/cardboard_box01.vvm

instead of

models/props/storage/common/cardboard_box01.vvm
